Congruence in Your Life and Your Values: Pivoting to a Career That Fulfills You

Recently, I started a new video series on my Youtube channel. I call it my Entrepreneur Interview Series but I put it under a playlist called “Living Your Values.”

These videos were meant to be fun ways for me and my viewers to learn from different entrepreneurs. But when I thought about it further, I thought about the many conversations I have had over the past 5 years with people of all ages ( Gen X/Y and boomers) who were looking to pivot out of their corporate careers into something more meaningful to them.

Something more than Just Educational Interviews

So that led me to put these entrepreneur interview videos under a playlist named Live Your Values, which is exactly what I want to help viewers do when they learn from these videos.

I want you to live a life that is CONGRUENT with your values. That means you can’t work somewhere that puts you in position to compromise those values. It also often means you have to work for yourself or a smaller organization with clear values themselves. If you do decide that you need to make a change, I want you to have the tools to do that. That’s the point of these videos…

That is the background and with that, here is my latest video featuring virtual entrepreneur Marc Glickman. Many people have the goal of working from home and working virtually. It allows the freedom to prioritize your values with each hour of each day - and not write off the 9-5, 8-5 or whatever block to someone else, EVERY day.

Marc can help you do that. he shares how he build a network, which later became an audience. He explains how he pivoted from actuary work to marketing and brand building. And he shares some of the tools he uses and strategies that worked for him. I hope you find this helpful in your life’s goals. If you do, let me know in the comments.

Also check out previous videos interviewing other self-directed entrepreneurs in consulting, law, retail, restaurant and music fields to name a few. Our next interview (likely released next week) features a non-profit executive from Boston who bootstrapped a small idea into a thriving organization helping the elderly. Make sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel so that you don’t miss a thing!
